But his story doesn’t begin there.

A Journey That Began in 1965

Reverend Chirwa’s journey with the Church of the Nazarene began in 1965, when he joined the congregation at Chilenje Church.

In 1971, he answered the call to ministry and enrolled in Bible college in Malawi graduating in 1973. His first pastoral assignment came in 1974 at Chikumbi Church and just a year later he returned to serve as pastor at Chilenje Church.

A Pioneer Leader in the Church

In 1976, Rev. Chirwa became the first Indinginus District Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene in Zambia. He led the district for 10 years, serving until 1986.

In 1990, he founded Kalimansenga Church of the Nazarene, which he led until his retirement in 2020—marking a total of 55 years of service to the church and to God’s people.

A Life of Impact

Reverend Chirwa’s ministry shaped many lives, trained new leaders, and strengthened churches across the nation. His retirement marked not just the end of a role, but the beginning of a new season of rest and reflection. Today, he resides on his farm in Kalimansenga, surrounded by the peace and fruit of his labor.
